As a young married couple, Dick and Sherley Bott moved from the West Coast to Kansas City and purchased a radio station. They had a vision that a large city could receive and support their commercial Christian radio station. So, by faith, they “leaped” and did it.
And now, as of this writing, that one Bott-owned Kansas City radio station has grown to be a network of nearly 100 stations around the nation! (For more, see www.bottradionetwork.com.)
Hear in their own words Bott Radio Network founder Dick Bott … and Dick and Sherley’s son, Bott Radio Network President Rich Bott … discuss with thanksgiving the blessings of God on the network … and the joys of making the message of the Gospel available by radio to millions.
The relationship between Bott Radio Network, with its more than 40 radio stations in Missouri … and the 1900+ churches of the Missouri Baptist Convention churches all throughout Missouri, has developed into a great unofficial partnership of advancing the Gospel of Jesus.
The setting of this particular brief radio discussion is at the BRN booth of the 2014 Annual Meeting of the Missouri Baptist Convention. During that event, the MBC presented to Dick Bott a “Lifetime Achievement Award.” Such is not the first significant recognition for him. A few years ago the National Religious Broadcasters installed but two men that year in the NRB “Hall of Fame” – Billy Graham and Dick Bott.
The Botts’ leadership in advancing the Gospel of Christ through the media continues. For the last three previous years to this writing, Rich Bott has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of National Religious Broadcasters, the primary organization for advancing the Gospel through Christian media..
