.in many ways provided creative leadership in the church he
pastored for years, South St. Louis County Baptist in the St. Louis, MO,
region. Featured in this radio interview is the church's establishing and
developing a financial foundation under the church's umbrella, which now is
resulting in tens of thousands of "over and above" dollars going to missions
and other ministries. The church selects the members of the board, which has
501 C (3) status. The foundation began slowly. Its purpose was to protect
the dollars given to the foundation, ever continuing the principal's growth,
ever earning to fund more missions and other ministries. Upon the death of
a lady who had been a foundation board member, it was discovered that she
willed more than $900,000 to the foundation. Pastor John points out on the
interview that she likely would not have given such a donation if there had
not been the foundation to receive it. And in her giving of it, her money
will keep on advancing the Kingdom of God until Jesus Comes. John Hessel
