Judy Redlich, blind, leads St. Louis Joni & Friends; helps startup ministries to the disabled

Judy Redlich has remarkably transformed her disability of personal blindness into a tool for ministry. As Director of Joni and Friends Gateway in St. Louis (www.joniandfriends.org/st-louis), she provides great focus on ministry being fully extended to the disabled. Judy is a living and walking testimony – usually with her husband Ray and “Seeing Eye” dog Juno beside her – of the vital role that disabled persons can play in today’s world. She was seen on Channel 24 in St. Louis for many years. In this radio conversation Judy describes a recent mission trip for Joni and Friends’ “Wheels for the World” into four cities in Mexico. They provided 600 refurbished wheelchairs to needy people … in Jesus Name … as Judy led meetings on how churches can have ministries to the disabled. This year’s outreach also included her leading a medical team to provide physical therapy to disabled persons who had never been treated before. Through Joni and Friends Gateway, Judy Redlich provides regular training meetings for churches who want to begin a disability ministry to disabled persons and their families or who already have one in place. She can be contacted at her office at (314) 644-6908 or by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it At the radio conclusion, Judy adds humor as she describes having to “fend off” the overzealous, helping the rest of us to learn from it.
