Numerous times I have complimented Rob Phillips for the disciplines he has exercised in becoming the expert apologist, author, and speaker that he is.
You can see the impressive list of his works displayed at www.oncedelivered.net. His The Apologist Tool Kit, for instance, is a compilation of his notes from numerous opportunities to speak on this theme of “apologetics.” It contains 70 short chapters on different aspects of defending the Christian faith.
“The Apologist’s Tool Kit 3rd Edition equips Christians to defend their faith, addressing a variety of contemporary issues from the existence of God to the authority of Scripture, and from false religions to the afterlife. Each chapter concludes with probing questions, talking points, and references for further study, making this a handy resource for personal or group study. 485 pages; paperback.”
But in this time of brief radio, we discuss his book The Last Apologist, from the one chapter New Testament book of Jude, the last Bible book before the book of Revelation. It contains a powerful listing of key subjects, including the challenge that we should … “… contend for the faith …” (Jude v. 3).
And there are warnings, such as “… judgment on the great Day. In a similar way Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up for sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.” (Jude, vs 6, 7). This is not something that many in these contemporary times will want to learn!
But upon our repentance and receiving Jesus Christ into our lives, “… the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s son, cleanses us from all sin … “ (I John 1:7) If you are alive and reading this … or hearing this message … there is still time for each and all of our sins to be forgiven by God. “But God directs his love toward us in that, while we were yet sinner, Christ died for us!” (Romans 5:8)
As I write, Rob Phillips and others highly qualified are leading a two day conference in Farmington, MO August 28 & 29, 2017, addressing themes of how to use biblical truth to understand and deal with unbiblical cults. (The conference producer, Charles Smith, can be called for information … about this one or the next one … at 314 277-3866. Along with Rob Phillips, longtime friend, Missouri Synod Lutheran broadcaster and teacher Kay Meyer is also one of the speakers.)
